Embracing Authenticity

As the end of the year is approaching rapidly, here is a lesson that I wanted to teach myself to prepare for the dive into next year. In a world that is constantly bombarding us with information and stimuli, it can be tempting to feel like we have to react to everything and anything that happens. We may feel pressure to have an opinion on every news story, to share our thoughts on every social media post, and to engage with every event or opportunity that comes our way.

However, this constant need to react and engage can be exhausting, and it can also prevent us from being true to ourselves. Instead of reacting to everything and anything, we should focus on what we truly love to do, and what brings us joy and fulfillment. This is where our ingenuity lies, and this is where we are most authentic and true to ourselves.

Furthermore, the pressure to be perfect can often prevent us from being authentic. We may feel like we have to present a certain image to the world, or that we have to always be in control and on top of things. But the truth is, perfection is an impossible standard, and trying to live up to it can be damaging and exhausting. Instead, we should give up on being perfect and embrace our imperfections.

Find your light. Follow your heart. Darkness wins a restless heart.

In conclusion, we don't have to react to everything and anything that happens in the world, and we shouldn't try to be perfect. Our authenticity and ingenuity lie in what we love to do, and in being true to ourselves. By giving up on the need to react and the pressure to be perfect, we can live more authentic and fulfilling lives.
