Today on Linkedin, a video of a black man imparting a very deep philosophy about believing and knowing halted my train of thoughts for a while. Video is at the bottom of this post.
His wise words, echoed in my mind for a while and started birthing questions to ask myself, and to you my readers. How well do you believe in something? Should you really be believing in God? A few moons ago, I was writing a journal on why I don't believe in God.
Belief hinders knowledge and the pursuit of it.
The moment you believe in something, your seeking of truth about it stops abruptly; and the moment you know something, either fully or beginning to, you stop believing in that. Now you are shifting from belief to either embracing it or moving away from it, based on how deep or shallow is your knowledge about it.
Belief is a wall that you build around a source of light, without knowing it. Unbrick this wall of belief and you shall enjoy the warmth and see better with this newfound light inside.
We are all humans, we are all but one and statements like these are widely uttered, but the true value of it is in the understanding of how our belief systems work and how they shape our thoughts. See video below.
