We exist. What's the big deal?

Existence is a fleeting thing. We are born into this world, and for a brief moment, we exist. We live our lives, make our mark on the world, and eventually, we pass away.

Despite this impermanence, we often act as if we will exist forever. We make plans for the future, we build careers and families, and we accumulate possessions and wealth. But in the grand scheme of things, our existence is but a mere blip on the timeline of the universe.

The only way we could fight against impermanence is by thinking, working and creating for the sake of others, selflessly. Others, I mean, not only those who are around us in the present moment but also in the vertical plane of time, past and future.

In a way, this impermanence can be liberating. It reminds us that our time in this world is limited, and that we should make the most of it while we can. It encourages us to live in the present, to seize the day, and to make the most of the time we have.

At the same time, the impermanence of our existence can also be terrifying.

Our existence is impermanent, and so is our non-existence.

It reminds us of our own mortality, and that one day, we will no longer exist. Forcing us to confront our own mortality, and to grapple with the idea that everything we know and love will eventually come to an end. But that's only half of what could scare you. If we don't exist, we also have no exit, from this vicious cycle of birth and death. Only by coming to existence we have all the opportunities to learn, empathize, help, elevate, evolve and finally liberate ourselves.
